I wouldn’t say it ‘changed me’ per se, but Gogol Bordello’s awesome, upbeat, fuck-the-world-you-don’t-need-it music really helped me through an insanely depressing time of absolute hopelessness prior to coming to school.

Because it’s late and I can’t summon a comprehensive mental list of advice I’ve been given over my life, I will pick the most recent that comes to mind. When I asked a friend whether I should wish someone a happy new year, they replied: “No”.
